Project name/ description: Purchase of didactic equipment for children with development
disabilities. Empower to Learn: Creating opportunities for every child!

in the field of inclusive education.
Cilj
The aim of our project is to ensure the purchase of the necessary
didactic equipment for the Public Institution Center "Zaštiti me"
Banja Luka. The Center is an educational institution where children with developmental
disabilities from the entire Republic of Srpska are educated and professionally
trained, according to the curriculum developed by the Republic Pedagogical
Institute. The school also includes a boarding school where children from other
municipalities of the Republic of Srpska stay during the school year. The
school currently has over 150 students, ages six to seventeen. Total number of
employees is 90 and they cover education on primary and secondary level as well
as needs of the boarding school.
Products information:
Different types and kits of didactic tools and appliances as follows:
1. Phonological carousel, the set contains a cardboard rotating base, 80 illustrated cards with various motives
2. Tactile polygon for balancing
3. Sound mats, are used to develop proprioceptive and auditory stimulation
4. Round luminous table
5. Set for motor skills, motor set for training and motor games As well as sensory equipment, touch panel, scent cards, digital interactive table, dialog talk communicator, speech therapy kit, sensor room and many other kits for assistive technology.
The supplier is local company ASCOM ltd Tesanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project will be focused on several areas:
1. Improving the quality of education in specialised institution for
children and youth, aged from 5 to 17 years, with development disabilities but
also educational infrastructure for inclusive education.
2. Strengthening and improving of mental and psychological health for
children and youth with developmental disabilities by purchase of didactic IT
tools of new generations.
3. Professional training for
teaching and medical staff as well as for parents of children attending the
school.
Training topic: How to use new generation of IT
didactic appliances.
Objectives of the training:
To teach teaching and medical staff how to use
appliances for different group of children.
To help teaching and medical staff to identify
level of interactivity between children with new IT equipment.
To support teaching and medical staff to apply the
most adequate way of usage of appliance according to
level of developmental problem.
To learn teaching and medical staff how to fix
minor malfunctions that could be happened during the work.
Information for parents - how the health of their
children will be improved.
Sustainability:
The project is self-sustaining, the equipment will be used permanently and would remain the property of the school. We would sign a donation protocol. The supplier is a local company where school will be able to ask for any support related to the equipment. Professional training forteaching and medical staff will be delivered by supplier. Training topic is: How to use new generation of IT didactic appliances.
